Disposal System Feeds – Pressure Relief Device Discharges
The relief rate required for the causes of overpressure under consideration, rather than the actual or “rated” device capacity, should be used as the input flow rate to the disposal system. The required relief rate and conditions should generally already have been quantified as part of the individual equipment required relief analysis and documentation (see Section 1220 for further guidance). Where multiple relief devices provide the total relief requirement, the relief flow requirement should be allocated among them based on the relative sizes and opening pressures of the devices.
