Flow Nozzles – Performance Characteristics
Properly installed and calibrated flow nozzles are nearly equal in accuracy to sharp-edge orifices. As with orifice meters, a major factor affecting accuracy of flow nozzles is the uncertainty of the discharge coefficient. Typically, this uncertainty is ±2.0% for the high beta ratio and low beta ratio nozzles with wall taps. For ASME throat tap flow nozzles, consult ASME Performance Test Codes (PTC) 6 and 19.5 for more information.
